Troubleshooting: My data isn’t updating

  1. If your google sheets has auto updating formulas, you have to enable “My Google Sheet has auto updating formulas” under Data Editor → More options. This includes any update that occurred without a human involved. For example, a formula that has the current date.
  2. Automatic data update will stop if something has changed with your columns: columns moved, renamed, removed or added. This measure prevents any unintended changes that might break your data story (for example a column that was accidently removed). To fix this, click “Refresh Data”, and a dialog will show asking about the changes we detected. If everything is fine, you can approve the changes and publish the data story again.
